  1. This table presents the distribution of our sample firms on the Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) during the period 2006–2010. The sample firms are classified into three categories: (1) the firms that do not disclose IC self-assessment in their reports, (2) the firms that disclose IC self-assessment in their reports, but do not attain an auditor’s attestation, and (3) the firms that both disclose IC self-assessments and attain an auditor’s attestation for the reports. Panel A shows the distribution of each category, as well as of the whole sample, over time. The sample firms with IC weaknesses are further identified in 2009 and 2010. The distribution of these firms is presented in Panel B. Panel C shows the percentages of SOEs and Non-SOEs in each category over the years
